Parish Secretaries' Seminar
Parish secretaries and administrators are usually overlooked and underappreciated. Yet they are often the first one a new resident encounters after moving into the community, the one who fields the call when a traumatic event has occurred to an individual or family in the congregation and the one who has to meet the deadlines of the Sunday bulletin or monthly newsletter even when the equipment has malfunctioned and someone is late in submitting needed information.
The Parish Secretaries' Seminar is a day and a half ecumenical, educational event that is held every fall at a local hotel/conference center. It is designed to provide opportunities to strengthen work skills needed in the modern office, to network with other secretaries/administrators and to grow spiritually. Secretaries/administrators are encouraged to bring copies of newsletters, bulletines, guidelines, office manuales, etc to share with others who will attend.
The 2010 Parish Secretaries' Seminar, "Less Hurry Hurry and More Hurray Hurray", is scheduled for Tuesday, October 5 through Wednesday, October 6 at the The Lancaster Doubletree/Willow Valley Resort, Lancaster, PA.
