Preparedness

LDRN-NE PA is responsible for disaster preparedness planning for the 14 counties which comprise the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), which counties are part of the Eastern District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS). To see the current disaster response plan click here.

Preparedness planning also includes developing a data base of potential volunteers, congregations, agencies and resources which can be available for response to a disaster on our territory as well as deployed to other regions. To contribute your personal information to our data base, click here.  To inform us about the resources your congregation or organization can offer, click here.

In addition, preparedness includes encouraging individuals and congregations to develop their own preparedness plans. To learn more about creating a plan for congregations, click here

As part of preparedness planning, Lutheran Disaster Response Network – Northeastern Pennsylvania sponsors speakers and trainings on topics such as pandemic, disaster response training for volunteers, congregations as potential targets of terrorism, etc. To find out more, click here or contact our office (ruth@lutherancongregationalservices.org or 610.770.9205).
