Eucharistic Visitors are members of the congregation selected by their pastor to be specifically trained to bring the communion meal from the family table at worship to ill and homebound members of their congregation. LCS has created this training program to help volunteers learn the biblical and theological background of the Sacrament of Holy Communion, coupled with methods of visitation and administration of the rite.
This is a one day training event, running from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The course examines the biblical and theological background of Holy Communion in the life of the Church, as well as discussing the art of visitation ministry. The participants conclude by sharing the communion elements with one another as they would in a home visit.
