Camp Noah

If you or someone you love has ever suffered from a disaster, you know that recovering from such a dreadful, life-altering event involves much more than rebuilding one’s home. Disasters and major traumas disrupt people’s lives in many ways and cause them to feel frightened, lost and vulnerable.

Camp Noah is a ministry specifically designed for children in kindergarten through 6th grade. Its purpose is to help disaster survivors feel less isolated; help them express and accept their many difficult feelings; understand more about the process of recovery; develop new friends; and find relief in small comforts and play time. Camp Noah can provide children and families with the basic foundation they need to help them take the first step forward in defining and accepting what will become their “new normal”.

Lutheran Disaster Response-Eastern PA designs programs for survivors in our territory. LCS also helps find volunteers and raise funds for Camp Noah programs across the nation.  You can help support ministries to children and youth in Northeastern Pennsylvania or a Camp Noah team by:

  • Praying for us and for the children we serve
  • Volunteering to serve on a team
  • Sending donations to help underwrite the costs associated with this ministry
  • Making child-sized quilts for campers
