Workshops for Confirmands

LCS’s Workshops for Confirmands enhance the confirmation ministry of local congregations. Our workshops take place in a variety of settings that range from retirement communities to multi-cultural and inter-faith settings.

Confirmands experience faith in action and explore their own faith practices in relation to others who are differently-abled than them or who come from a different culture or religion.

Most workshops are 2 -3 hours in length, and many take place on Sunday afternoons. There are also some after-school events, Friday evening Synagogue services, and a Food Pantry experience on Saturday.

There is a non-refundable registration fee of $6.00 per youth per workshop for contributing congregations; $7.50 per youth per workshop for non-contributing congregations.  There is no fee for adult chaperones.

 Schedule:

Islamic Center of Reading: March 3rd, 6:00-8:30 p.m.- 15 youth

Lutheran Home at Topton: March 11th, 2:00-4:30 p.m. 25 youth

St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem: March 20th, 4:00-6:30 p.m.- 5 youth

Pocono Lutheran Village, East Stroudsburg: April 22nd, 1:30-4:00 p.m. - 15 youth
