Holiday Donations

LCS’s Ingathering events collect donations for individuals in need from congregations in a geographic area. We use a centralized drop-off point and volunteers to efficiently distribute donations on a designated day.

We coordinate Christmastime Ingathering events in both the Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA) and Southeastern Pennsylvania Synods (SEPA).

Every year during the holiday season, the SEPA Synod Ingathering provides over $100,000 worth of donations to organizations that work with children and the poor in our local region and overseas, as well as to others who have unique needs.

In NEPA Synod, LCS works with congregations of the Bethlehem-Easton, Lehigh, and Northern Lehigh Valley Mission Districts to provide a more joyful and hopeful Christmas season for those who are institutionalized or find themselves on the margin of society. Each year, an estimated 30,000 gifts/items are gathered and distributed to more than 30 organizations for their residents and/or clients.
