Welcome

Lutheran Congregational Services is a social ministry organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are committed to working with congregations to provide the support and coordination essential to effectively care for those in need. LCS uses a hands-on approach to identify the needs of your congregation and the wider community in order to equip your congregation with the tools necessary to answer its call to serve Christ.

Jesus Calls Us to. . . Action

This advocacy event, which is scheduled for Saturday, November 6, 2010, from 9 am until 3:30 pm, is sponsored by Lutheran Advocacy Ministry in Pennsylvania, Lutheran Congregational Services, Micah 6:8 (Lutherans Committed to Justice), the Mission Investment Fund (ELCA), and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod (ELCA).

The day is designed to help participants think about some of the central issues facing their communities, our nation, and the world in ways that will enable them to become advocates for justice with those who are most vulnerable -- the poor, the elderly, the very young, the refugee, and others.

The Rev. Amy E. Reumann, the Director of LAMPa, is the keynote speaker, and Bishop Samuel R. Zeiser will lead worship and participate in the day's activities.  Participants will be able to choose from 17 workshops, to learn how their congregations can participate in the Fair Trade movement, to discover resources that are available at the synod office regarding advocacy, and to acquire books that deal with the role of advocacy in the context of their Christian faith.
